What Is Your Identity in Christ Jesus

Beloved Kingdom Citizens,

You must know who you are. When you know your identity, you live with confidence. When you ignore your identity, you struggle, doubt, and fall easily. Many people live below what God prepared for them because they do not understand who they are in Christ Jesus.

Today, you will see clearly what God says about your identity.

1. You Are a New Creation

The moment you gave your life to Jesus, something powerful happened inside you.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new.”

You are not the same person anymore.

• Your past does not define you
• Your mistakes do not control you
• Your old nature is gone

You have a new life. You have a new beginning.

Stop calling yourself by your past. Stop seeing yourself as weak or broken. God sees you as new.

2. You Are a Child of God

Your identity starts with your relationship.

John 1:12 says, “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.”

You are not a stranger to God. You are not far from Him.

You are His child.

• You have access to Him
• You can speak to Him at any time
• He cares for you deeply

A child does not beg for attention from a loving father. A child comes boldly.

You must stop living like an outsider. You belong in God’s presence.

3. You Are Righteous in Christ

Many people still live in guilt. They feel unworthy. They think God is always angry with them.

That is not your identity.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “He made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

You are righteous, not because of your works, but because of Jesus.

• God sees you clean
• God sees you justified
• God sees you accepted

This does not mean you live carelessly. It means you live from a place of acceptance, not rejection.

When you understand this, you stop hiding from God. You draw near with confidence.

4. You Are Chosen and Set Apart

You are not ordinary.

1 Peter 2:9 says, “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people.”

God chose you.

• You are not a mistake
• You are not forgotten
• You are not rejected

You are set apart for a purpose.

This means your life must look different. Your decisions must reflect your identity. You cannot live like the world and still claim to be set apart.

5. You Are Light in the World

Jesus gave you a clear identity in Matthew 5:14. “You are the light of the world.”

You carry light.

• Light removes darkness
• Light shows direction
• Light brings hope

Wherever you go, your life must shine.

In your home
In your work
In your community

People must see something different in you. Your words, your actions, and your character must reflect the light of Christ.

6. You Are More Than a Conqueror

Life will bring challenges. You will face battles. But your identity is not defeat.

Romans 8:37 says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

You are not trying to win. You are already positioned for victory.

• You overcome fear
• You overcome sin
• You overcome trials

This does not mean you will not face problems. It means problems will not overcome you.

Stand firm. Do not give up.

7. You Are an Ambassador of the Kingdom

God has given you a mission.

2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “We are ambassadors for Christ.”

You represent heaven on earth.

• Your life is a message
• Your words carry power
• Your actions reflect God

An ambassador does not speak his own ideas. He speaks on behalf of the one who sent him.

You must represent God well.

In your speech
In your conduct
In your decisions

People should see God through you.

8. You Are Loved Deeply

Never forget this.

Romans 8:38-39 tells us nothing can separate us from the love of God.

You are loved.

Not because of what you do
Not because of what you have
But because God chose to love you

This love is steady. This love is strong. This love does not change.

When you understand this, fear loses its power. Rejection loses its hold.

You stand secure.

9. You Are Called to Grow

Your identity is not static. You must grow into it.

Colossians 2:6 says, “As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him.”

Growth is your responsibility.

• Study the Word
• Pray daily
• Live in obedience

Do not remain a child in understanding. Grow in strength. Grow in wisdom.

The more you grow, the more your identity becomes visible.

10. Live According to Your Identity

Knowing your identity is not enough. You must live it.

Ephesians 4:1 says, “Walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.”

This is a daily choice.

• Choose righteousness over sin
• Choose truth over lies
• Choose faith over fear

Your identity must shape your lifestyle.

If you say you are light, shine.
If you say you are chosen, live set apart.
If you say you are a child of God, walk in obedience.

Kingdom Citizen, you must stop living below your identity.

You are not weak.
You are not forgotten.
You are not defeated.

You are in Christ Jesus.

Rise and live like who you are.

Speak like who you are.
Think like who you are.
Act like who you are.

Let your life reflect the truth of God’s Word.

Hold on to this identity every day. Build your life on it. Refuse every lie that tells you otherwise.

Walk boldly. Walk faithfully. Walk in the fullness of who God says you are.
