Jesus Fulfills the Law

Beloved Kingdom citizens,

Today, fix your eyes on a powerful truth. Jesus fulfills the Law. This truth shapes your faith, your obedience, and your relationship with God. If you miss this, you will struggle with guilt, fear, and confusion. If you understand it, you will walk in freedom, confidence, and purpose.

Let us begin with the words of Jesus Himself. In Matthew 5:17, He said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” This statement is clear. Jesus did not come to cancel God’s standard. He came to complete it.

The Law given through Moses revealed God’s holiness. It showed what is right and what is wrong. It exposed sin. Romans 3:20 says, “Through the law we become conscious of sin.” The Law is like a mirror. It shows you your condition, but it cannot clean you. It tells you what God requires, but it does not give you the power to meet those requirements.

You must understand this. The Law demands perfection. Galatians 3:10 says, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Not some things. Everything. No one has achieved that standard except Jesus.

Jesus lived a perfect life. He obeyed every command. He fulfilled every requirement. He did what no human being could do. Hebrews 4:15 says He was tempted in every way, yet without sin. His life satisfied the Law completely.

But His mission did not stop at obedience. He also fulfilled the Law through His sacrifice. The Law required punishment for sin. The penalty was death. Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death.” Jesus took that penalty upon Himself. On the cross, He paid the full price.

Isaiah 53:5 says, “He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities.” This was not symbolic. It was real. The justice of God was satisfied. The demands of the Law were met. Jesus fulfilled both the requirement of obedience and the requirement of judgment.

Now listen carefully. Because Jesus fulfilled the Law, your relationship with God is no longer based on your ability to keep rules. It is based on what Jesus has done. This is why Romans 10:4 says, “Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

This does not mean the Law is useless. It means the Law has reached its goal. The purpose of the Law was to lead you to Jesus. Galatians 3:24 says, “The law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” Once you come to Him, you are no longer under that tutor.

You must stop trying to earn what has already been given. Many people still live as if they must struggle to gain God’s approval. They carry guilt. They fear failure. They measure themselves by rules. This leads to frustration.

Listen to this truth. You are accepted because of Jesus, not because of your performance. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith… not by works, so that no one can boast.” Your salvation is a gift.

But do not misunderstand this message. Freedom from the Law does not mean freedom to live in sin. It means freedom to live in righteousness. When Jesus fulfills the Law in you, your heart changes. Your desires change. You begin to love what God loves.

Romans 8:3-4 explains this clearly. “What the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son… in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Take note of that. The righteous requirement is fulfilled in you, not by your effort, but by the Spirit of God working in you. This is a new way of living. It is not external pressure. It is internal transformation.

The Law said, “Do not commit adultery.” Jesus goes deeper. He deals with the heart. In Matthew 5:28, He says that even lust is sin. The Law said, “Do not murder.” Jesus says anger can lead you there. He is not lowering the standard. He is raising it to its true level.

This shows you something important. The problem was never just behavior. It was the heart. And only Jesus can change the heart.

Now ask yourself this question. How should you live, knowing that Jesus fulfills the Law?

First, live in gratitude. You did not earn this. You received it. Let your life reflect thanksgiving. Worship with sincerity. Serve with joy.

Second, walk in obedience from the heart. John 14:15 says, “If you love me, keep my commands.” Your obedience is now a response of love, not a struggle to earn approval.

Third, reject legalism. Do not go back to a system of rules to define your righteousness. Galatians 5:1 says, “Stand firm in the freedom by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

Fourth, pursue holiness. Grace is not an excuse for sin. Titus 2:11-12 says grace teaches you to say no to ungodliness and to live upright lives. When you understand what Jesus has done, you will not take sin lightly.

Fifth, depend on the Spirit daily. You cannot live this life by your strength. Galatians 5:16 says, “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” This is practical. Pray. Stay in the Word. Listen to God.

Let me make this practical for you.

When you fail, do not run from God. Run to Him. Jesus has already paid for that failure. Confess it. Receive forgiveness. Stand up again.

When you feel condemned, remember Romans 8:1, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Condemnation is not from God. Correction is from God. Learn to know the difference.

When you are tempted to prove yourself, stop. Your identity is secure. You are accepted. You are loved. You are justified.

When you see others struggling, do not judge them harshly. Remember what you have received. Show mercy. Help restore them.

Jesus fulfills the Law, and this changes everything.

The system of sacrifices is fulfilled in Him. Hebrews 10:10 says, “We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” No more repeated sacrifices. It is finished.

The priesthood is fulfilled in Him. Hebrews 4:14 calls Him your great High Priest. You now have direct access to God.

The righteousness required by the Law is fulfilled in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

This is your position. Righteous before God. Not because you kept the Law, but because Jesus fulfilled it.

So stand firm in this truth. Do not mix the old system with the new life. Do not try to add your works to His finished work. Trust fully in Him.

Let your life now reflect His character. Love others. Forgive quickly. Speak truth. Walk humbly. Serve faithfully.

This is the life of a Kingdom citizen.

Jesus fulfills the Law. He completes what you could not do. He pays what you could not pay. He gives what you did not deserve.

Receive it. Walk in it. Live it.
