The God Who Knows Your Name

Bible Texts:
Isaiah 43:1 says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are Mine.”
John 10:3 says, “The sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.”
Psalm 139:1–4 says, “O Lord, You have searched me and known me.”
Exodus 3:4 says, “God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, ‘Moses, Moses.’”
Luke 19:5 says, “Jesus said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, hurry and come down.’”

Many people live in this world as numbers. They are numbers in school, numbers at work, and numbers in offices and records. This world counts people, but God calls people by their names. Your name matters to God. Your life matters to Him. Your tears, your struggles, and your story all matter to Him.

Isaiah 43:1 tells us that God calls us by our name and says that we belong to Him. This verse shows us a simple and powerful truth. God does not deal with us as a crowd. He deals with each person as an individual. Today, we are learning about the God who knows your name.

God Knows You Fully

Psalm 139 tells us that God knows when we sit down and when we rise up. He knows our thoughts even before we speak them. This means that God knows our past, our present, and our future. He knows our hidden pain and our silent battles. People can only see our faces, but God sees our hearts. People hear our words, but God knows our thoughts.

Nothing about your life is hidden from God. This truth should comfort you because it means you are never alone. It should also guide you because it means you always live before His eyes. When you cry at night and nobody hears you, God hears you. When you feel forgotten by people, God remembers you. When you feel weak, God understands your weakness and still cares for you. God knows your name and He knows your story.

God Calls People by Name

In the Bible, we see many times when God calls people by their names. In Exodus 3:4, God called Moses by his name. In 1 Samuel 3:10, God called Samuel. In Luke 10:41, Jesus called Martha. In Luke 22:31, He called Simon. This shows us that God speaks to people, not only to crowds.

When God calls your name, it means that you matter to Him. It means that your life has purpose and direction. You are not on this earth by accident. You did not come into this world without a reason. God knows your name, and He has a plan for your life.

God Called You Before Others Noticed You

Many people only notice those who look important or successful, but God looks at the heart. David was in the field taking care of sheep, and nobody invited him to the meeting, but God already knew his name and had chosen him. First Samuel 16:12 shows us that God saw David before others did.

Gideon was hiding in fear, but God called him a mighty man. Nathanael was sitting under a tree, and Jesus saw him before he moved. This teaches us that people look at position and titles, but God looks at the heart and the future. You do not need to fight for attention, because God already knows your name.

God Knows Your Name Even When You Feel Lost

Hagar ran into the desert with pain in her heart. She felt rejected and alone, but God saw her and spoke to her. In Genesis 16:13, she called Him the God who sees her. Elijah once sat under a tree and asked to die because he felt tired and empty. In 1 Kings 19, God met him there and cared for him.

You may sometimes feel tired, confused, or broken, but God still knows your name. Your place does not change His care. Your weakness does not cancel His love. Your failure does not remove your value in His eyes.

God Knows Your Name in a Crowd

Zacchaeus was in a tree, hiding among many people, but Jesus looked up and called him by name. Out of a large crowd, one name came out. The woman who had been sick for many years touched Jesus in a crowd, and He stopped and spoke to her. This shows us that crowds never confuse God and numbers never hide you from Him.

You may feel invisible in church, in your family, or at work, but God still knows your name and sees your life.

God Writes Your Name in His Book

The Bible tells us that God keeps records and that there is a book of life. This shows us that your name matters to God not only in this life but also in the life to come. People write names in files, but God writes names in eternity. If your name belongs to Him, then you have hope and a future that does not end.

God Knows Your Name, So Walk With Him

Since God knows your name, you should walk close to Him. John 10:3 tells us that He calls His sheep by name and leads them. This shows a close relationship. You should learn to listen to His voice, spend time in His word, and speak to Him in prayer. Do not run to Him only when trouble comes. Walk with Him every day.

God Knows Your Name, So Do Not Fear

Isaiah 43:1 begins by saying, “Fear not.” We do not need to live in fear because God knows our name and holds our life. Fear grows when people feel alone, but you are not alone. You are not forgotten, and you are not finished. The One who knows your name also knows your tomorrow.

God Knows Your Name, So Value Other People

Since God knows names, we should also care about people. We should not treat people as numbers or tools. We should learn to care, to listen, and to show love. Jesus knew people by name and cared for their lives. We should follow His example.

God still calls people by name today. He calls the tired, the broken, the confused, and those who are searching for Him. When He calls your name, answer Him like Samuel did and say, “Speak, for your servant hears.”

You live in a world that forgets names, but you serve a God who never forgets. Your name is always before Him. Your life is in His hands. Your future is in His plan. Isaiah 49:16 says that God has written your name on the palms of His hands. This shows His deep care and lasting love. Walk with confidence, live with purpose, and rest in His care. The God who knows your name will never lose you.
