Make a Decision: I Choose to Worship Jesus

Every believer reaches a defining moment—a point of decision that shapes the rest of their life. This moment isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes, it happens quietly in the heart. Other times, it comes in a storm of trials, confusion, or temptation. But in every season, there is a call from heaven: “Whom will you serve?”

This is not just a once-in-a-lifetime decision. It is a daily choice. And today, I invite you to join me in saying: I choose to worship Jesus.

The Power of Decision

The Bible is filled with examples of individuals who had to make hard choices. Joshua, nearing the end of his leadership journey, stood before the people of Israel and challenged them:

“Choose this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)

Joshua understood something powerful—that worship is a decision. It’s not based on convenience, emotions, or circumstances. It’s a deliberate choice to put God first, to live for His glory, and to submit our will to His.

You and I are faced with that same decision every single day. We can choose to worship Jesus or be distracted by the gods of this age: comfort, fame, self, success, money, pleasure, or popularity. But only one choice leads to life.

Why Worship Jesus?

You might ask, “Why should I choose to worship Jesus?”

Let me tell you plainly—because Jesus is worthy.

He is not just another religious figure. He is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the King of kings. He left the splendor of heaven, walked this broken earth, and gave His life as a ransom for many. His blood paid the price for your redemption and mine.

No one else could do what Jesus did. No one else loved like He loved. No one else conquered death, rose again, and ascended to heaven, promising to return for those who belong to Him.

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” (Revelation 5:12)

Jesus alone is worthy of our worship—not just on Sundays, but with our whole lives. When you choose to worship Jesus, you are aligning yourself with heaven’s anthem and the eternal plan of God.

What It Means to Choose Worship

To choose worship means more than singing songs in church. True worship is a lifestyle. It is the daily surrender of your heart, mind, body, and will to Jesus.

When you say, “I choose to worship Jesus,” you are saying:

  • I surrender my plans and submit to His will.
  • I honor Him in my decisions, words, and relationships.
  • I trust Him in the storm and praise Him in the sunshine.
  • I reject idols—anything that tries to take His place in my heart.
  • I live to glorify Him in all I do.

This kind of worship transforms you. It shifts your focus from self to Christ, from fear to faith, from worry to worship. It brings peace in chaos and strength in weakness.

The Battle for Your Worship

Make no mistake—your worship is being fought over. The enemy doesn’t mind if you attend church, as long as your heart is far from God. He is after your loyalty, your devotion, your affection.

In Matthew 4, Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness with wealth, fame, and power. But Jesus responded with unwavering truth:

“Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’” (Matthew 4:10)

If Jesus, the Son of God, had to resist the temptation to worship other things, so will we. But here’s the good news: when you choose to worship Jesus, God empowers you to overcome every distraction and deception of the enemy.

The Rewards of Worship

When you truly worship Jesus, you begin to experience His presence in powerful ways. Worship opens the heavens, shifts the atmosphere, and invites divine intervention.

  • Paul and Silas worshiped in prison—and the prison doors were opened (Acts 16:25-26).
  • Jehoshaphat appointed singers to praise the Lord—and the enemy was defeated without a fight (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).
  • The woman with the alabaster jar poured out her worship—and her story is told wherever the Gospel is preached (Mark 14:3-9).

Worship isn’t weakness—it’s warfare. It’s not a last resort—it’s a spiritual weapon. And those who worship Jesus in spirit and in truth will never walk in defeat.

Worship Is a Daily Choice

Today, I invite you to pause and reflect: What are you worshiping? What occupies your thoughts, energy, and attention? Is Jesus truly the center of your life, or has something else taken His place?

Make a fresh decision today:
I choose to worship Jesus.
Not just when life is easy, but even when it’s hard.
Not just in public, but in private.
Not just with words, but with obedience.

Declare it boldly. Live it faithfully. Let your life be a song of worship to the One who gave everything for you.

A Final Word

Beloved, the world is full of options, but only one choice leads to life. The idols of this world promise much but deliver little. They leave us empty, bound, and lost. But Jesus satisfies the soul. He brings hope, healing, and eternal life.

So make your decision—not just once, but every day. Every moment.

I choose Jesus. I choose truth. I choose love. I choose worship.

Let every breath, every step, and every word be an act of worship to our glorious Savior.
